Welcome to my therapist page, please take a minute to see if I am the psychologist for you. It can be helpful to know a bit about the psychologist or any other professional, medical practitioner whom you are seeking service or treatment from.
Counselling Statement:
I believe it takes courage to recognize the need for help and then reach out for that help. I will work with you, helping you get through many of life’s challenges! I draw from a variety of proven approaches from solutions focused therapy to cognitive behavioural therapy. I will work with you as a psychologist to help you best assess your therapy needs and then work collaboratively with you to best meet those needs. I find as a fact that people have their own inner strength to work through problems and find needed solutions to issues they are facing in their lives. I will work with you to help uncover those strengths and add the needed resources to your current strengths, that will allow you to move forward positively in your life.
Couples/Marriage Counselling Statement:
Many people take care of things such as their car, house and physical health on a regular basis. However, neglect such important aspects of their life like their couple/marriage relationship and mental health. In particular, as life gets busy the couple relationship takes a back seat to other concerns in their lives. However, research has found that if individuals are struggling in their intimate relationship then many aspects of their life can suffer including health. When was the last time you had a couple’s relationship check-up/tune-up? If you are struggling then couples/marriage counselling can help! I help couples work on rebuilding and strengthen their relationship using a variety of proven approaches including but not limited to Gottman model, solution focused approach, cognitive behavioural techniques.

Biography
I bring with me the experience beyond being just a psychologist. I started my career working as an electrician having learned the trade from my father who currently runs his own electrical company of 30 plus years. I served as a volunteer/paid-on-call firefighter and registered emergency medical responder with the Airdrie Emergency Services from 2002-2007. I have worked in the criminal justice system as a correctional officer with adults and then as correctional service worker with youth at the Calgary Young Offenders Centre. As I worked on completing my Master's degree I was hired on to work at a community based agency as a family counsellor, working with individuals, couples, youth/children families and groups. I currently work as a partner/owner in the Aridrie Counselling Centre and own/operate Effective Solutions Counselling & Consulting Inc.
I feel privileged to have a very supportive wife and I am happily married to her for over 20+ years. We have four wonderful children who like all children have their own strengths, struggles and life to live.
